Birdland Animal Park - Batemans Bay

The boys enjoyed a day off from school to travel down to Bateman's Bay with Grandma and I, as we checked out "Birdland Animal Park."

They were both quite interested in writing down the names of all the animals we saw during the day (Liam came equipped with his Steve Parish handbooks too:)

We made friends with these little guys
(it helped that we were feeding them sunflower seeds bought from the gift shop)

We saw some more koalas

More birdfeeding...

We caught the "Birdland Train" for a ride around the park

Liam had his iPod in hand for animal pics along the way...

We watched the animal show for a up-close view of the snakes and wombats

First, holding the diamond python...

Grandma was brave enough to give it a go!

Then, it was dad's turn...

Next, came the wombat!

We fed the deer...

Saw some very active echidnas...

And onto more birds and animals...

This deer thinks it's a kangaroo!

Some lovely flowers...

And more cool birds!

"Charlie" just kept saying "What are ya doing?"...hilarious!

We left Birdland and had a lunch at Pelican Point - just behind us in the river we saw a small whale (maybe a humpback) swimming along...very cool!
